The mall. The grandest days of that institution are far behind us. But we can always reminisce of those times -- the modern architecture, the endless galleries of merchandise and dreams. When you were at the mall, there were no cares of the outside world. In the controlled climate, that consumer paradise was comforting, encompassing, safe, warm, and bright. Every day there was a good day. We who knew it then thought it would be forever.

And yet, it wasn't. Times changed. People changed. Tastes changed. Until eventually, all had been changed. And the era of the grand malls began to come to a close, sometimes abuptly, and in other places more gradually.

On this album, Alcool 68 presents a flashback to the music of the malls in their finest era. Put on some headphones and close your eyes, and you can almost see the skylights and storefronts that endlessly echo the Muzak in the retail vastness, smell the corn dogs and Cinnabons, and feel the luxurious products at your fingertips everywhere you turn. Sense the years rolling back to a time of food courts and fountains, rumbling escalators and chiming cash registers.

So relax on an atrium bench and let the background music flow...as Alcool 68 brings back the days of "Malls Unltd."
